What’s a portfolio? And why should you build one?

Portfolios are what you use to tell your creative story. Having a strong portfolio will help you in a lot of ways -- With applying to school, sharing your work with potential employers, or just getting to know yourself better on your own artistic journey.

Portfolios are the visual story of yourself that you want to share with the world, and knowing how to put together a compelling art or design portfolio is important for any job. But it can be hard to know where to start. That’s where LINK comes in!

In this online workshop, you’ll get top advice from people who hire artists and designers, work in small groups to develop your verbal story, put together your art so far in a common application format, learn about applying for art school programs, and how to apply for the LINK Senior Scholarship!

Student Prep:

  • Follow the instructions for photographing your work and have them uploaded to your computer before the workshop
  • We will be moving images around on a screen using the platforms MURAL and Google Slides. We recommend using a desktop or laptop computer for this workshop. More screen space will make this easier!

Please RSVP by Friday, January 13 to save your spot!
