Event Details

Dive into mixed media to explore your artistic voice in this expressive self-portrait workshop! Each student will bring three words that represent themselves to the workshop, in response to the questions: "Who am I? What’s important to me? What’s my personality?"

We’ll be led through our exploration by guest artist Michelle Kumata, who will share her artistic journey of finding her voice and identity through art. She’ll show examples of her own illustrations and paintings, and other artists’ portraits for inspiration for our self-portraits.

Michelle will also share different techniques using acrylic paint, gel medium, tissue paper, and rags. We’ll play with collage, paint and other materials to find ways to visually express you, your values, and your core.

Students: Please wear paint-friendly clothes, and come to the workshop prepared to share three words that represent you. These words will be the inspiration for your self-portrait!

RSVP by Tuesday, November 8th at 8pm to save your spot!
