Event Details

How do you really see a place, and bring it to life on a page? Where better to find out than on the richly-filled restored natural and industrial landscapes along the Duwamish River?

In this workshop, located partly indoors at the Duwamish Longhouse and partly outside on the bank of the Duwamish River, you will learn how to simplify a complex landscape by breaking it down into your favorite shapes and creating imagery with new ways of mark making.

Together with LINK mentors and students, you’ll learn drawing techniques indoors and then travel outside to the river shore at həʔapus Village Park & Shoreline Habitat with a fresh sketchbook and drawing materials, and try out your new skills while working with professional working artists who have been interpreting the Duwamish River for the past 10 years.

The location for this workshop is generously sponsored by the Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center of Duwamish Tribal Services. Thank you!

Note: Mask wearing is required when indoors. Art materials will be provided by LINK. Please RSVP by 8pm on September 15th to save your spot!
