Linocut block printing is a hands-on art process where students carve their own design into a block, roll it with ink, and press it onto paper to create bold prints they can reproduce again and again. This workshop introduces the basics of printmaking while encouraging creativity and collaboration. Each student will design a fall-inspired image that becomes part of a larger group piece, showing how individual ideas can connect into a bigger story.
Renowned designer and illustrator Robynne Raye leads our students through the design and development of custom skate decks using vinyl and paint.
During the workshop, students will learn basic head structure and pastel rendering techniques.
Visual designer and letterpress printer Amy Redmond will lead students through a hands-on exploration of how a typeface’s style, size, & placement
In this workshop, we'll be looking at the history of illuminated letters and their effect on typography.
Select a story that interests you from the newspapers provided and create a collaged poster (newsprint, paper, pen, pencil etc.) that includes images and text. Once you have created the poster, change the text to take the opposite stance. See if the image still works.
Through the deliberate practice of “mistake-making,” students will learn how to turn artistic bloopers into material for even better beginnings and remove the fear of making “bad art."
Join us for a photography workshop with a twist. Find out what happens when you hack 21st century technology to use a lens design that is at least 3000 years old.
Students will learn traditional hand-drawn animation techniques and how to break down motion and timing into key frames and in-betweens
Kerry will guide students through a collage-style cut and paste activity to create their own custom artwork using recycled materials such as repurposed Nike shoe boxes and bags.
