This month, LINK is taking a field trip to the Frye Art Museum!
We’ll be led on our own private tour through an exhibit called The Third, Meaning. It's full of works from the Frye’s collection staged by international research collective ESTAR(SER) to ask fundamental questions about museums and what they contain. What do artworks want from us? And what do we want from them?
Then, we’re honored to be joined by Priya Frank, the Director of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion at Seattle Art Museum, for a spotlight Q&A on equity, inclusion, and antiracism in museums.
In the end, each of us will get to pick our own favorite pieces and sketch them ourselves to practice observation, form, line, and shadow! LINK will provide fresh notebooks that are sized for museum sketching.
Students: We’ll meet up at the corner of Terry Ave & Cherry St just before the museum opens. Please bring warm layers! Food and large bags aren’t allowed in the museum, but small bags are okay. See more details about visiting the Frye here.
NOTE: Due to the Frye Art Museum's open hours, this workshop begins and ends later than usual. Double-check the time to plan your day!
RSVP by Friday 12/9/2022 at 8pm to join this one-of-a-kind tour!
