Beloved by all, LINK’s annual mural workshop is back – in pieces! Each student will be sent acrylic paint and one wood panel, individually etched by guest artist Xerxes Irani.

In this workshop, Jovon Rossman will lead students through the iterative steps of solution-based problem solving, commonly known as “Design Thinking”. Students will practice design thinking frameworks for innovation used at Facebook, Apple, Google and AT&T and taught by IDEO and the Stanford d.School.
Learn to see and describe the movement of the human body in this gesture drawing workshop. Working with a clothed model, we will discover a simple method of mapping a complicated form into shapes, angles, and big proportions.

The Portfolio Workshop provides LINK Juniors and Seniors with an overview of what a portfolio is and how it is used both for college applications and in the professional world. Volunteers will help students curate their art and each student will be set up with an online portfolio.
In this workshop, Drew Wicklund will teach students to use their observational skills to draw from life. He’ll reveal methods for finding the freedom to draw with an open mind, soaking everything in, and capturing the moment anytime/anywhere with art and word.
In this workshop, Jeff Barlow will walk us through the history of illuminated letters and their effect on typography.
