Event Details

This workshop is focused on character design in regards to making a junk-bot. The workshop will begin with students deciding what their robot's purpose will be, perhaps going into some back-story about their robot's life, and then sketching their robot. After coming up with a sketch, students will choose from a variety of junk objects to make their robot. We are looking to bring cardboard, scrap wood, kitchen utensils, scrap electronics, wire, and other types of junk to make their creation. They will also have the option to paint their piece, if they desire and time-permitting. During the critique, each student will be asked to show their finished piece and their sketch, describe their robot's characteristics and reason behind the design, and comment on how their robot varies from their initial conception.
