Wire Sculpture

Students will explore shape, texture and balance while creating hanging sculpture. The goal is to explore organic and irregular shapes using various gauge wires. Paper and thread can be explored for texture. Students will look for balance by combining several forms together in a final hanging piece. Throughout the process students will be asked to think about creating something of interest on every 'side' of their forms and to consider how the sculpture looks from every angle, not just from the front.
