Paper Mobile Light Shades

Students will play with light and shadow techniques as they manipulate hand-crafted Kakimoto Washi Paper around a standing or hanging light pedestal of their choice. They will engage in sketching exercises that covers structural engineering, sculpture, aesthetics with a light story telling of their illuminated shade. The paper we will be using was donated by the Kakimoto Washi Company located in Kyoto, Japan.
